“I thought I was going to stay in Colombia and go to a university and study medicine because my passion is saving lives and keeping people healthy,” says Betancourt. “But I’ve noticed with the passing of time that, although it’s a wonderful career, there’s a ton of doctors out there already. If I worked to be a doctor, I could only treat patient by patient. If I go into public health, or a similar career, I could impact thousands of people.”

4worldlovers: CCB had a great performance during the “Torneo Nacional Infantil AACBI” hosted by The English School in Bogotá. Our student athletes faced the competition with boldness and respect. Their growth has been notorious and it is a source of great pride for the school. La Copa de la Amistad has been a traditional event for the CCB and Bolivar communities, leaving behind many memories from an event that has been ongoing for over 20 years. This year, a new addition was made with the inclusion of volleyball for both boys and girls. The atmosphere has been simply spectacular, with both schools singing their anthems, creating a very emotional moment similar to the World Cup. The honours were split between the two schools, with Bolivar's female teams winning in football and volleyball, while CCB won in an epic male volleyball match that ended with a thrilling third set leaving everyone on the edge of their seats. The boys' football match also had a memorable penalty shootout. We are proud to have met expectations and to have the Corazón Colombo always present in every activity. Congratulations to both schools for their sportsmanship and fair play.

On March 11th an unforgettable 2023 CCB Festival took place, which was a feast for the senses with its delicious food and lovely music. The 13 members of our swimming team and 16 members of our football team have left the school’s name on a high note. Between 18th and 23rd April, both teams had the opportunity to compete against other national and international schools in the Cumbres International Cup in the city of Medellín.
